Byron Bay is home to a number of excellent, award-winning drinks, some of which you may be familiar with already. Wherever you choose to drink make sure you take the opportunity to soak up the taste of Byron Bay and try our locally made drinks which you will see at restaurants and bars throughout town.

As well as dishing up incredible food in it’s chic restaurant, the five star Marvell Hotel is one of the best places in Byron Bay to enjoy a drink at Horizon, their stunning rooftop bar. With views that stretch across Byron Bay, tunes to get you in the mood and a disco ball, Horizon is the hottest bar in Byron Bay and the best place to enjoy a sunset cocktail. The selection of drinks is huge with a seriously impressive range of hard-to-find super premium spirits taking pride of place behind the bar.

There is nothing better on a sunny day in Byron Bay than enjoying an icy cold margarita and the best margi’s in town are made locally by the legends at Azteca. Whether you like a classic lime or spicy margi, Azteca have you covered with a range of flavours of their 100% natural small batch brewed Margarita Mix – just add tequila – and pre-mixed margis. You will find this deliciousness at good shops throughout the region and on tap at some of the best venues in town.

One of Byron Bay’s best known brands is Stone and Wood beer, with a brewery and tasting room – the company’s ‘spiritual home’ – located right in the heart of Byron Bay. You may be familiar with Stone and Wood’s iconic Pacific Ale – much loved around the country as the embodiment of Byron Bay sunshine in a glass. A visit to the brewery is a very fun experience with a full selection of beers available at the bar, food by local legends 100 Mile Table and loads of spots to gather with friends. If you want to learn more about the beer making process, you can also book in for a guided brewery tour and beer tasting experience.

Any visit to Byron Bay must include a trip to the amazing Cape Byron Distillery, home to the award winning Brookie’s Gin and Cape Byron Australian Single Malt Whisky. The distillery sits in a breathtaking rainforest, regenerated by the Brook family and home to many species of native plants and animals, including the native botanicals which inspired the creation of Brookie’s Gin and are used in the making of all of their products. I highly recommend booking in for a Brookie’s Rainforest & Gin Tasting tour which begins, after a Gin & Tonic on the deck naturally, with a walk through the rainforest followed by a lesson in the art of distillation and a guided gin tasting session. If you are a Whisky lover, book the Cape Byron Distillery’s Whisky Tour where you will learn about the whisky making process including a visit to the barrel room, with a whisky highball in hand of course. If you don’t have time for a tour enjoy a drink from the bar on the deck overlooking the rainforest or try a tasting flight of Brookie’s Gin or a Cape Byron Whisky.
